Thanks Preds

April 21, 2007

I have to thank the Preds for a great year of hockey. For most of the year we were atop the league (a place we had never been). Never before had the Predators been mentioned by so many of the geat hockey minds as a front runner for the cup. Never before had management given us the tools we needed to compete.

Never before has a loss been this painful.

Thanks Preds.

  1. Great series. Shame one team had to lose.

  2. thanks BC…good luck next round.

  3. I agree, good game. I think Shea Weber was the goat tonight being out of position on the last goal and the spearing game misconduct made me a little mad especially after the Vokoun spearing incident earlier in the period.

On the bright side at least Nashville has made it to the playoffs 3 years in a row. Missing Steve Sullivan hurt you guys. He was +2 with 23 minutes of ice time when we played this year.

I again wish Nashville the best. Unfortunately, it looks like there are going to be some changes. I think Barry Trotz is going to be out of a job and I am not sure what the Nashville team is going to look like next year.

Hopefully you guys can root for the Sharks going forward. I know how this must feel for you guys. Last year’s SJ loss to Edmonton was brutal. It might make it easier for some of you if we play Detroit 🙂

Thanks for running the blog, it was nice to get in touch with Nashville fans that had something more to say than “Sharks suck” on the San Jose Mercury News site.

  4. Totally agree with you on thanking the Preds for a great year. It’s a heartbreaking loss, but there’s a lot to look forward to. It’s a shame so many “fans” only love and support the team when they win, and suddenly turn on them when they go down. I hope that the fans continue to support this team and staff. No one layed down and quit. They showed guts every night and never gave up. I just pray we can keep the team together for another run. The possible changes are scary, but I won’t give up we’ll have a great team again next year. Thank you Predators!!!!

  5. I will throw my thank yous to the Preds in as well. It was a great regular season and it will be hard to top. I too am curious to see what this team looks like next year. Who knows, we may need to sacrifice a little in the regular season to have the type of team we need for the post season. That would be just fine with me. Thanks to Joe for this blog. I only wish I had found it sooner. To the Sharks fans, good luck in the next round. (especially if it is against Detroit) 🙂

  6. More thanks to the Predators for a great season and for having NHL hockey in Nashville. I’ll be back this Fall … cheering, hoping, arguing and rooting our team on. There is nothing like a fresh sheet of ice and the anticipation of the drop of the puck at 7:00 p.m. in Nashville for me.

Thank you to each person in the Predator’s Organization: from Craig Leipold and David Poile, to the players, to Pete and Terry, to the fans and supporters, to the ticket takers, and the vendors … to everyone it takes to make this team work each season … we DO have something special in Nashville.

All I can say today is: Believe. Keep the Faith. The Cup will come here soon.

In the meantime … keep loving hockey. Let’s keep it here.

    See you at the rink.
    JF
