I Hate Power RankingsOctober 23, 2007
Here is a quote from tsn.ca’s power rankings.
Chris Mason opened the season with two outstanding games and has struggled ever since. Perhaps it’s time to take a step back and give backup Dan Ellis some work.
Okay…I get that the Preds have lost five in a row and that Mason had some shaky games but he looked pretty good in the Ducks game and played great Saturday in San Jose. This is ridiculous to think that they should give Ellis some work. Mason is the number one, no ifs, ands or butts. Here is the case of a person compiling the list looking only at box scores and not knowing what is happening on the ice.
I am not even arguing the point that they have the Preds ranked 28th. Right now they deserve that ranking because they’ve lost five in a row. Five in a row! Are they a better team than what they are showing? Without a doubt they are! But until they start showing the rest of league by stringing together some wins they will be pulling up the rear in all of these rankings.
So…a big fat juicy Crotch Bang to TSN for not doing enough research to know that Mason is playing good hockey right now and still deserves the #1 spot.
